*Check your blood pressure regularly, he begs Nigerians
About 12 million Nigerians are suffering from the impacts of the diseases they can avoid or and prevent, thus, they have again been charged to always check their blood pressure to avoid hypertension and other related ailments.
A medical practitioner, Pharmacist Lanre Alege gave the charge at the weekend in Ilorin at the keep fit exercise for Staff of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
Pharmacist Alege said regular check of the blood pressure would ensure early detection and treatment of hypertension which was common among the adults.
The Medical Practitioner stated that about 12 million Nigerians are hypertensive urging the people to avoid excessive use of table salt and consumption of salty foods.
Pharmacist Alege who also delivered the same lecture at the quarterly keep fit exercise of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) said the World Health Organisation (WHO) set aide the 17th of May every year to create awareness on Hypertension with this year having the theme “know your blood pressure, if it is high, have it treated.”
He advised the people of the nation to avoid self medication, high alcohol consumption and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
Pharmacist Alege implored Nigerians to embrace regular exercise at least three times a week.
