*Gani Adams, Yinka Odumakin are thieves, fraudsters
*Afenifere caused underdevelopment of south west
Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, (SAN) has thrown a dragnet of tantrum at two prominent Yoruba representatives at the 2014 national Confab saying that the gathering itself was that of thieves.
The governor dropped the bombshell during the inauguration of a new leadership for the National Association of Ondo state Students (NAOSS) held at Babafunke Ajasin auditorium, Akure, the state capital. He was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Dr. Doyin Odebowale.
According to the governor, the confab was a gathering of “thieves and fraudulent personalities.”
The governor also took a swipe at the paramount ruler of Arigidi Akoko, Oba Dr. Yisa Abu Olanipekun, the Zaki of Arigidi of being of Fulani descent.
Akeredolu described the coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Gani Adams, as a mere carpenter who became successful through thuggery.
He also said Yinka Odumakin has never achieved anything in life other than being a mere reporter with the Punch newspaper.
He accused leaders of Yoruba Pan socio-political Organisation, Afenifere, of being largely responsible for the leadership backwardness and underdevelopment in Southwest Nigeria.
Akeredolu also accused the Nigerian students of contributing to the problems of the society, by sharing awards and celebrating criminals, impostors and opportunists in Nigerian leadership.
He said, “Gani Adams is a carpenter who metamorphosed to a businessman, in the name of thuggery. Yinka Odumakin has never done any other thing in his life, apart from being a reporter in Punch Newspaper at a time.
“These are celebrated frauds in the society, who parade themselves and speak as Yoruba leaders without consulting the people they claim to lead in decision making”
He posited further by condemning the 2014 National Conference, saying “they gathered themselves together and shared billions of tax payers money, all in the name of National conference. And they expect people like us, who don’t have any input in their discussion to accept the report. These are the Lilliputians that our society celebrate today”.
