2019: Saraki faces well-schemed, fiery impeachment

*Senators to deliver are being galvanised already

*Eight other senators to face trouble

Seven meetings have been held and led by a former Governor who is presently a Senator to remove the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki.

A senior and ranking Senator who is involved in the new scheme which he described as “fool proof” said, we have reached out to our colleagues who are to buy-in into the plot.

Many of those contacted are very well disposed to removing Saraki as Senate President.

The source also told www.gongnews.net that a serving governor from the North-West part of the country and a close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, are also believed to be involved in the plot.

Misau alarm was a precursor: It would be recalled that a pro-Saraki Senator, Isah Hamman Misau (APC, Bauchi Central), who served as a minister during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure, specifically between 2003 and 2007 is dropping the funds to make the impeachment work.

In one of the meetings where the plot to impeach Saraki was being hatched, four serving senators from the North who are said to be against the Presidency of Saraki were in attendance. One of the senators is a former governor of a state in North Central. One of the senators is from Bauchi State. He is currently at war with his state governor.

Another is a strong adversary Saraki. He has been on the list of the new minister in the impending cabinet reshuffle. The fourth senator, who attended the meeting, is one of the longest serving lawmakers in the National Assembly. He is a principal officer in the Senate.

According to the source, the four lawmakers, including a minister from the South-South, a serving governor from the North-West, a top official in the Presidency named another former who was not at the meeting, to lead the impeachment move.

Modus of the impeachment: The source disclosed that the impeachment which is to be hooked on moral grounds has a swell of funds to sway public opinion towards the resurgence of his criminal matter at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The argument would be that he is standing a criminal trial and should have voluntarily resigned his position.

Those to go with Saraki: Four senators are planned for the guillotine. They are earmarked for what is labelled as ‘character assassination and destruction.’ Online and specific newspaper houses have been lined up to do the “media execution.” All the four APC senators are Senators Dino Melaye (Kogi West); Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi (Niger North); Isa Misau (Bauchi Central) and Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central).

Four other senators who are die-hard Saraki followers will share in the planned Tsunami. Only Senator Ekweremadu was mentioned in this other quartet.

Obviously, there is a plan B. Saraki has three other criminal issues that are not yet in court. These matters will all be brought up and charged to court. One of the alleged offences is ordinarily not bailable. Their recent war declaration on the Executive courtesy of their anti-Ibrahim Magu position is also part of the renewed drive to do this fight,” said the source.

“It is a total fight. No retreat, no surrender. This is what the setting will be into the 2019 election. Go and write it down. All the senators on that list will not rest again. Even if they go to another party eventually, they won’t come back to the National Assembly. We have given them too much space that is why they are squeezing us to the bone leaving us with serious pains.”
