ABUJA BEACH SOCCER: HON. KWANDE IMPRESSED WITH TOURNAMENT, ADVOCATES FOR BEACH SOCCER LEAGUE IN NIGERIA

Honorable Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande,  who represented the Nigeria Football Federstion (NFF) President Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick at the Final of Abuja Beach Soccer Tournament at the Jabi Lake over the weekend.

Speaking on behalf of the NFF president, the Vice Chairman of Beach Soccer Committee said the players should not be discouraged that the federation has put beach soccer on hold, its simply because the federation want to put a proper league structure in place so that the player will have an avenues to showcase their talent in the league and also to play for the Sand Eagles in the future.  We have a great plan for the game. And that very soon the players will be happy playing the game of beach soccer in Nigeria.

“The game of beach soccer have gone beyond what you are seeing now so the board want to put out a good structure in place for a league, and that we want everyone to benefit from playing the game and with what is happening all over the world we want an atmosphere where every state will have a league team and with that we can get the best for the Sand Eagles team.

Honorable Kwande, who is also the current Chairman of West Africa Beach Soccer promised to ensure that the game goes beyond Nigeria, and that with time Nigerians will enjoyed the game on a weekly  basis he said.  He expressed his delight with the organizer of Abuja Beach Soccer Tournament that with what he saw the game has a future in Nigeria and he urged every state to emulate what Abuja has been able to do and praised the effort of Kebbi beach soccer teams who were able to distinguished themselves during the tournament wining all their three games and winning the 3days events.

The former Honorable member of the Federal House Representative also praised the effort of the Abuja FA and its Chairman Abbah Mouktar coming up with such an idea for the tournament.  He however promised that Plateau is challenged to do a similar Beach Soccer tournament in Jos on or before the Easter period and he is also looking forward to hosting a big tournament which see Plateau state hosting some West African teams in his capacity as the current West African Beach Soccer Chairman in the not too distant future he concluded.

Kebbi Beach Soccer team defeated the Abuja Beach Soccer team in an entertaining game by 4-8, while Badagry Beach Soccer Team lost to 4-7 to Kwara Beach Soccer team to end an exciting three days of fun on the beach in Abuja.
