Asiwaju of Offa, Chief Emmanuel Adesoye dies at 79

Reknown industrialist and foremost Nigerian Chartered Surveyor, Chief Emmanuel Adesoye, is dead. He died at the age of 79. He is founder of the popular Adesoye College Offa.

In a reaction, Muideen Adebayo Ibrahim who is the Secretary General of the Lagos branch of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) wrote, “with total submission to the will of almighty God all Offa sons and daughters announce the death of the Asiwaju of Offa, Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye, omo Olabande. omo ekun, omo abule sowo, Chairman Adesoye Groups of Company, we pray that God to grant him paradise.”

Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye (OON, CON) was born on 25th April 1938 attended African Bethel School Ebute-Metta Lagos 1948-1951; St Marks school 1952; Offa Grammar School 1953-1957; Yaba Technical College 1958; Nigerian College of Arts, Science, and Technology Enugu 1959; South East College of Arts, Science, and Technology UK 1961 -1963;

He is a Fellow Institute of Quantity Surveyors London 1965; He is the first Northern Nigerian Quantity Surveyor and the second Nigerian Quantity Surveyor; He is a Fellow Royal Institute of Chartered Quantity Surveyors 1968; Fellow Nigerian Institute of Chartered Quantity Surveyors 1985;

He was the Chairman Afribank 1987 – 1989; Some of the traditional titles he holds include being the Maye of Offa 1979; Baba Isale of Odo Owa (Kwara State) 1995; He became the Asiwaju of Offa in 2001;

He was the National President of Offa Descendants Union in 1996. He was proprietor Okin Biscuits Industry, proprietor of Okin Foam Industry, proprietor of Noble Brewery Industry and Adesoye College Offa.

His family are yet to announce the plans for his burial ceremony. However, condolence messages have been flooding on the demise of the great industrialist.
