*It is true but I told them to try their best – Olamide George
*Petitions/Appeals committee to face EFCC
By Olajide Fashikun
Since the Appeals/Petitions committee released its ignoble report, www.gongnews.net can report that the Vice President elect of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Hon Olamide George has been under pressure to join the Secretary of the federation to take the All Nigeria trials to Warri for an all expenses paid championship or get removed from his current number two position.
Our checks revealed that when the former Czar called Hon Olamide George to step up as Acting President now that Gusau has been sacked and take the decision to take the event to Warri in Delta State and he refused. He was threatened that his position would be declared open for contest.
As soon as the threat was delivered, the hatchet men had to return to the forms the member of the Ondo State House of Assembly filled and found that there was no where he filled “Vice President” on his form. They searched for stronger reasons but found none. In order to ensure he is reduced to being a member, they claimed since the president was cancelled it should affect the Vice.
Contacted on phone, Hon Olamide George confirmed saying, “I have received threats. I have been asked to take charge and shift the All Nigeria Opens to Warri but I told them that loyalty is a unilinear mathematic. One fact is, I cannot be removed as a member of the Board. So, I remain who I am.”
Solomon Ogba was quoted to have told some of his friends that he is in perfect control of the federation with the sack of Hameed Adio, Gusau and the South East candidate, Patrick Onyedum who he called “strangers.”
A pro-Gusau supporter, Abdulmalik Inuwa from Borno state who just called on a different mission said, “this is a fight back of a troika of interests: the druggist/traffickers, the exploiters and their ministry friends who I will call leeches. We are aware of these facts.”
The former national 800metres runner told www.gongnews.net that, “if that election is conducted again and again, not only will Mr Patrick Onyedum win in the South East. Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau will win his zone and the Presidency. Let those dreamers get set to go to jail.”
“Are you aware that the detailed report of the Appeals/Petitions committee listed every petitioner as for example Brown Ebewele versus the Electoral Committee. A friend of mine who served on that committee confided in me that none of the alleged electoral committees were summoned for their side of the issues. Seven persons in the various electoral committees also affirmed that they were at no point called up by the committee headed by the Permanent Secretary.”
By tomorrow (Tuesday) we shall submit a 21-page petition against the Petitions/Appeal committee to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the Abdulrazak Salau
committee never met the commonest minimum acceptable conduct of investigating their petitions. Are you aware that there was a first report which was doctored and made to look like real.
