*Biafra is not about separation
Leader of the very vocal Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, on Thursday has advocated that if Nigeria is not restructured now, it will cease to “exist.”
Speaking at the Biafra conference in Abuja held at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Chief Adebanjo insisted that those opposed to the restructuring of Nigeria were the real enemies of the country.
The second republic politician said the question of Biafra was not about separation but about living together on agreed mutual terms.
According to Adebanjo,“The question of Biafra is not about separation, the question is how we want to leave in peace on agreed terms. Anybody opposed to restructuring is an enemy of Nigeria.
“That is why I put it to northerners that are opposed to restructuring; you cannot be more northerner than the late Sardauna who was not opposed to it. Our problem remains the military. The military did not allow us to settle our problems mutually. That is why the problems keep regurgitating and until it is addressed there is no where to hide as a people and as a nation.
“My final comment is, restructure now or Nigeria will not exist.”
