*To distribute 60,000 bibles this year
Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to promote religious harmony to ensure even development across the State.
The State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira stated this in Ilorin while receiving the Executive of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Kwara Area led by its Chairman, Reverend Jacob Olaniyi in his office.
Elder Kisira explained that the State government would support the Society in its activities.
The Deputy Governor called on the Society to continue to distribute the Holy Bible to win souls for the Kingdom.
He commended the successes recorded by the Society in the spread of the word of God urging them to continue in the same vein.
Elder Kisira charged Nigerians to be peaceful to ensure the progress and development of the Nation.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Society, Reverend Olaniyi said the Organization has been existing in the State in the last 40 years.
Reverend Olaniyi highlighted the achievements of the Society which include the production, distribution and translation of the Holy Bible into over twenty five Nigerian languages.
The Chairman explained that the Kwara Area won the overall best in the 38 Areas in the Country.
He stated that the Society was distributed over 55,000 Bible to the people in the area and was aiming to distribute over 60,000 copies this year.
