*Rural Electrification Agency Board also approved
President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Ambassador Arab Yadam and Dr. Habibat Lawal as acting Director General of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) respectively. The acting appointments take cognisance of seniority in their respective offices.
Dr. Habibat Lawal (Bauchi State), who is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has stepped in as the Acting SGF.
Her choice is devoid of both ethnic and religious colourations which is already being insinuated by some jingoists on social media accusing the Head of government of bringing someone from his region and religion.
President Muhammadu Buhari, has also approved the appointment of a new Board and Executive Management for Rural Electrification Agency.
The Chairman of the Board is Engineer Umaru Maza Maza, while the Managing Director is Mrs. Damilola Ogunbiyi. Dr. Sanusi Mohammed Ohiare was appointed as the Executive Director (Rural Electrification); Muhammad A. Wasaram as Executive Director (Technical Services) and Yewande Odia as Executive Director (Corporate Services).
Others whose appointments were announced are Engineer Alozie Mac and Mr. Rotimi Thomas are appointed as non-Executive Directors.
Furthermore, President Buhari has since confirmed the appointment of Engineer Saleh Dunoma as the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN);
Captain Mukhtar Usman as the Director-General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Captain Fola C. Akinkotu as the Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
According to a statement by Director of Press in SGF’s office, Bolaji Adebiyi, all the appointments take immediate effect.
