Champions League: Ebi Egbe charges Rivers United to money phase

*They have the experience, advantage to excel this season

Ebi Egbe, the CEO of Monimichel Sports Equipment and Facility has urged Nigeria representative in the CAF Champions League Rivers United, to be at their best if they want to make it to the money spinning stage of the lucrative continental football competition.

The plea was made by Ebi Egbe, the CEO of Monimichel Sports Equipment and Facility when he had an exclusive interview with www.gongnews.net.

“With what I saw them play in Port-Harcourt a week ago the team has the potential of shocking the Sudanese team in their backyard, but they must be at their best to beat them”.

The contractor handling the ongoing stadium project in both the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba and the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa, is very confident the pride of Rivers will have an easy task in Omdurman going by their performance at home.

“I don’t see them losing in Sudan because they have demonstrated the task can be done and with the kind of motivation the team is getting from the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, it will be done but they need to convert their chances and they have the advantage and now they will not be playing under pressure when they get to Sudan”.

It will be recalled that the Nigerian team’s performance in the continent has not been too outstanding for some years now. Enyimba international of Aba was not able to make it out of the group last season.

“With what Rivers United are doing I think they are a team with lot of experience so for me I think they can make it all the way to the finals and I will be very proud of the team” Ebi Egbe said

Rivers United take a 3 goals lead to Omdurman in Sudan and the team will play Al-Merrikh Sporting Club on Sunday by 6pm Nigerian time.
