*For six long days with staff, students
For six days this week beginning from Monday, old boys and girls of the famous Christ’s School Ado Ekiti will gather for their annual Reunion and Homecoming.
They are coming from all over the world for a week of meetings, games, Sports talks, party and thanksgiving anchored by the 1973-1977 class.
The programme of activities released by the Planning Committee shows that the Reunion will open formally Monday with a Health Talk to be given by Dr Dokun Adedeji and a Games and Sports League.
Tuesday will feature a career talk to be handled by Alumni who are accountants, optometrists, military officers, broadcasters, legal practitioners and nurses.
The third day, Wednesday, will witness a Press Conference and another Games League.
There will be an Inter House debate by junior boys and girls on “Should government allow return of schools to original owners” on Thursday. This will be followed by a Motivational & Entrepreneurship Talk. Friday will feature a students/staff interaction with Alumni members.
On Saturday, the various sets will commission their Class projects. The highlight is new school gates which will be commissioned on that day. A luncheon for all alumni will close the day’s events.
The week long events will be rounded off with a thanksgiving service at the School Chapel next Sunday.
Founded in 1933 by Missionaries of the Christian Missionary Society (CMS), Christ’s School Ado Ekiti has produced many eminent Nigerians in all fields of human endeavours notably Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Journalism, Law and Broadcasting.
They include Professors Olukayode Osuntokun, Adelola Adeloye, Fola Esan. Others include Chief Bandele Falegan, Dr Yemi Farounbi, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
The late General Adeyinka Adebayo and Chief Samuel Asabia were also products of the school. The Publisher/CEO of the Sketch Newspapers, Ibadan, Bode Oyewole is also an old student of the school.
