Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United FC Kabiru Dogo has reversed the earlier decision to throw in the towel as the team’s gaffer.
The Solid Miners coach disclosed to www.gongnews.net on Monday at his residence in Lafia that he had to change his mind due to the persuasion from football stakeholders in Nasarawa State who have been supporting his quest since he took over the coaching mantle three years ago.
“I told my players that after two matches without win, I will leave for another coach to come and win. I have to obey the elders and listen to them. I have a good working relationship, it was just a decision out of annoyance.”
He assured the team of winning trophy and guiding them to a pole position at the end of the season.
“My target is to get a trophy either the league or the federation cup. I believe it is going to be a good turn around for the club and myself too”
He last guided Nasarawa United FC to CAF Confederation Cup first round in 2015 and Nigeria Federation Cup final in 2016 and help the team finished 11th last season in the league.
It was recalled that Dogo earlier quit as head boss of the team after a goaless draw versus Sunshine Stars FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League Match day Nine at Lafia City Stadium, Lafia.
The team sits 10th on the standing with 10 points after nine Matches and will next travel to Maiduguri to battle El-kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri in the Week 10 league fixtures.
Meanwhile, Mascot Displayer Association of Nigeria has decorated Nasarawa United coach, Kabiru Dogo, as the Grassroots Coach of the Year 2016 along side Alloy Agu and Babanja Solomon who both won the Best Goal Keeper trainer of the year and Best Team Manager of the year respectively.
