Ex-Big Brother Naija (BBN) star, singer and guitarist, Deborah Ebun, popularly known as Debbie Rise, has revealed that her dad who is a pastor conducted deliverance on her after she returned from the reality TV show (Big Brother Naija).
The Kogi-born computer science graduate said this in an interview with Channels Television monitored from Abuja.
The talented singer said her father was not in support of her participation, but she had to assure him through a text that she will not misbehave while on the show.
She said she was made to kneel down and hands were laid on her to cast out the demons that made her do what she did in the Big Brother Naija house.
“When I went home for my homecoming, they asked me to kneel down and tried to deliver me and cast out whatever was making do what I did in the BBN house’’, she said.
Debbie Rise, a guitarist, however, added that her dad became so proud of her as he received so many congratulatory messages from people around him.
Debbie Rise was one of the contestants that lasted till the last day of the reality show. While in the show, she had told fellow housemates how she ran out of her home because her dad, a pastor, would not let her attend the show.
The Kogi-born singer, who has been touring media houses since the end of the reality, said, “Apart from the fact that my father is a pastor, I feel like I’m a typical girl with a good cultural upbringing from the north where parents are very protective of their children or they are just worried about the outside world like the city life.
“So, I understood it as to the kind of life he wanted for me. I know he wants the best for me and he was just trying his best. “He was trying to be protective but being a pastor and me trying to have a career in music, there could be this friction.
