*We’ll work with speed to deliver our objectives – Michael Leung
Dr Samuel Ankeli, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability, has inaugurated an 11-man committee to harmonise on the business development plans of the delegation of the America Africa and Asia Chamber of Commerce and Industry that is presently in the country to assess the situation.
Speaking at the inauguration at a dinner on Saturday in Abuja, Dr Ankeli said, “President Muhammadu Buhari gave me a five-point agenda to pursue and deliver. We had been working on these with a boot-string budget. Your coming and interest to support the Nigerian disability community is well and proper. The Federal Government is ready to facilitate you to achieve these goals.”
He thanked the leader of the team, Sir Michael Leung, for their choice of Nigeria and said, “your choice of intervention is unique and outstanding. You have chosen a sector that is so dear and personal to Mr President. Your activities will bring joy and happiness to persons with disability and their dependants.”
He charged the committee to work round the clock to deliver the working modalities of delivering the tasks. From the first quarter of 2017, we want to start to see the manifestations of these plans. We are a government of sincerity and integrity.
“Let me admit that there is also corruption in the disability community. Those who are benefitting there are not happy with me and our activities. I am going to achieve a change that will make the nation disability-friendly.
In his remarks, Sir Michael Leung, appreciated the Nigerian President for choosing a person like Dr Ankeli whose passion
for making things work is sincere, open, transparent and detailed. His choice is outstanding.
“On our part, we have business interests which you have not only made so easy for us to achieve but shown the deep commitment of the Buhari administration which we have fallen in love with from a distance until we see the kind of commitment you have demonstrated. We are committed to working with you for humanity.”
Tim Chen in his comments said, “we will work with you, spread the word and get things done rightly, well and timely. The kind of unalloyed passion we have seen since we arrived in simply put unique, leadership-oriented and worthy of emulation.”

This is one man who is not only patient, his leadership is which in the persons with disability community keeps up the flag of hope, we are so proud of him, he brings grin and faith to all of us. Our prayers will keep him going.”
