EFCC: Magu’s replacement is Saraki’s boy

*Assigned to destroy all corruption cases against Senators

*To be allowed express clearance despite legal tango

Ahmad Abdulrahman, the man touted to replace Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is afterall an acolyte of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki. His choice was deliberate and his assignment is to not only protect members of the National Assembly who have different cases of corruption in the EFCC by destroying all the facts and evidences.

Once his name is sent to the Senate for confirmation, he will get an express clearance to enable him do the bidding of his benefactors. Abdulrahman was the deputy Head of Operations under Mrs Farida Waziri, the former EFCC boss. She, the Head of Operations and Abdulrahman were all nominees of Dr Saraki then.

Ordinarily, on his own, he is eminently qualified for the office. He is well read and seemingly prepared for this role but for the guarantors of his office who would have tied his hands behind him even before he gets into office.

The super cop hails from Kirfi LGA, Bauchi State. Enlisted into the NPF as Cadet ASP in 1990 at Nigeria Police Academy Annex in Kaduna.
