*Abdul Karim praises choice of Sole Admin as right
Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has announced the appointment of Abdul-Akaba Sumaila, as the Acting Sole Administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex.
Sumaila, an Engineer, replaces Mr Joseph Isah, who retired from the civil service last month, having attained the mandatory 35 years in service.
A trained engineer and project manager, Sumaila is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
He was until his appointment, a Senior Advisor, Government Relations with Shell Petroleum Development Company.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Business School Netherlands (BSN).
The appointment takes immediate effect, Media Aide to the Minister, Yinka Oyebode said in a statement.
In a swift reaction, Mr Abdul Karim has praised the appointment as a worthy one which the youths of Kogi State are looking at will help in the appropriate completion of the Ajaokuta complex as a source of increasing the nation’s economy and opening employment spaces for the teeming youths of the country.
Abdul Karim added in his statement that Abdul-Akaba Sumaila has before this appointment been a great source of confidence and hardwork amongst the youths of Ebiraland. We are confident that he will not only deliver on the task but he will make our nation better suited for technological advancement.
