FOSLA U-13 football championships kicks off 

*For 10 LGAs in Kogi state

All is now set for the 2017 edition of FOSLA U13 Football Competition which will kickoff on Tuesday in Anyingba, Dekina Local Government, among 10 local government areas in Kogi State.

All the nine local government areas from Kogi East Senatorial district including Lokoja Local Government will compete for honours and trophy that will commence with the preliminaries at the football pitch of Kogi State University, Anyigba.

According to head of organizing for the competition, Mallam Ahmed Ajakpo who told newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, the 10 LGAs have been grouped into two with five teams each.

Defending champions Igalamela/Odolu LGA lead group A alongside Ofu, Lokoja, Dekina and Bassa LGAs while runners up in 2016 edition, Olamaboro area council will battle for two the available slots in the semi final slots in Group B with Idah, Ankpa, Ibaji and Omala LGAs.

Opening match will see Lokoja LGA taking on Olamaboro by 8:30am while Bassa LGA will engage Ankpa LGA in the second game of matchday one.

The last game of opening day will be Ibaji LGA facing their counterparts from Idah LGA.

Final of the yearly competition sponsored by FOSLA Academy, Karshi, Abuja owned by former president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sanni Lulu Abdullahi will be decided at the Qua Iboe Primary School, Idah on the new year day of 2018.

Selected players with outstanding performance during the tourney will be awarded scholarship into FOSLA Academy, one of the foremost academies in the country that combines education with sports.
