Member of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Alhaja Ayo Omidiran, has warned the Sports Ministry not to interfere in the budget of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The former member of the NFF who is representing Aiyedade, Irewole Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber said, “I can see so many lapses in what you are presenting. I know the Nigeria Football Federation are not aware of what you have just brought to the house. If it is the NFF that come forward with this budget they have a way of presenting it to the House. They break it down for the House to see their various activities for the year so it is a great concern for us here in the House Committee on Sports.
Speaking further, the former member of the Nigeria Football Federation also shared some light on the secret budget of the Sports Ministry to the Presidency.
“We have here a budget for N784,298,850 for sporting activities and we heard there is a story out there that your Ministry (Sport) presented a budget proposal of N3Billion to the Presidency for Sporting activities for the year 2018 and we know the budget will still pass through the House for approval.
The Sports Ministry budget defence was later adjourned to a future date to allow the Committee members take a critical look at the budget for proper implementation
