*We’ll support tennis, table tennis
Mr Olawoye Oladele, the Managing Director of Ibolo Community Bank of Offa has pledged the support of his organisation to support the development of new champions in the community amongst the children and youths who have the privilege of the Basic Olive Opportunity Sports Training (BOOST).
Mr Oladele spoke during a short meeting with the officials of the Ruth Ogbeifo-Balofin sports project in Offa. He commended the initiative and added, “in our own little way, we shall see how much support we can give to the project.”
“We hope we can support table tennis. We also look forward to when the tennis section of your programme will commence. We also look forward to seeing the possibility of getting some of our friends to tag into this project. To us, our customers’ children are the direct beneficiaries of your activities.”
Present during the meeting, Mr Taofeek Ibiyemi said, “the community structure of the sports programme is very endearing. I am particularly tripped that children who are in schools are the major beneficiaries of the project. In another couple of years to come, they would be the cynosure of eyes.”
Speaking at the event, coach Kasali Lasisi, a former Commonwealth and African champion said, “since we started this wonderful programme, you are the first corporate institution to identify with the programme. We thank you for this contribution to the growth and development of new world champions from Offa, which is also the area of operation.”
“I can report to you that we have promising stars from the over 400 children who started with us. Table tennis had the highest surge of athletes and with what I have seen, the future of the sport is from Offa. Watch out for our athletes.”
In her remarks, Mrs Bamidele said, “this is a community project.
