Ikija wins Sidikatu Akinbami football tourney in Osun

*Three players spotted for Osun United FC

Ikija II ward has won the 2017 edition of the Sidikatu Akinbami memorial football trophy by beating Aare ward by 1-0 over the weekend.

The only scarce goal came through the boot of Adeoti Martins In the 28th minute of the match in ife south local government of Osun state

The third placed match saw Ayesan ward walking over Ikija (I) ward to win the bronze medal.

The tournament was organised by the Sidikatu Akinbami Foundation. The occasion was graced by Osun United FC coach, Olapade Waheed, who scouted three players who participated in the games. They Kehinde Egbaibon, Muyiwa Ogundoju and Adeoti Martins.

The foundation also recognised and gave awards to two sons of ifetedo, ife south local government to appreciate their contributions to the local government and Nigeria at large in different spheres of lives.

The late chairman, Adekunle Odewale was awarded for his immense contribution towards the development of the local government, while Prince Adesigbin was recognised for his literal work which has and is being used widely in most south west schools in Nigeria.

The chief organiser of the event Vincent Akinbami, said the event was organised to bring about peace and unity in the local government, to scout for talents and recognise those who have contributed immensely to the growth of the local government.

He said the main idea of the tournament is to expose hidden talents in the local government to possible bigger and better opportunities.
