Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, has stated that he is open to any club that needs his service as his contract with Enyimba International FC of Aba expires.
“Oracle” as the former Sunshine Stars FC of Akure gaffer is fondly called said he is unsure about his future with the People’s Elephant while stating he remains a free agent after the expiration of his one year contract.
The former Shooting Stars (3SC) of Ibadan merchant tactician who has been linked to jobs at top Nigerian Professional Football League outfits, said he will love to continue his good work with Enyimba if the club opens discussion with him, but didn’t rule out joining another club side.
Asked how he felt with Enyimba talking to Imama Amapakabo and Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu, the 54-year-old gaffer said hence his contract has expired, Enyimba is free to talk to any coach of her choice and he’s also free to open discussion with any team that needs his service.
Ogunbote opined he expect himself to have a clear view of his next destination in the next one week when he will decide which of the suitors approaching him he wants to tend their team for the next football season.
Ogunbote had told www.gongnews.net when he was joining the Aba traders that his plans were to bring back the club to their former glory were a motivation to his decision.
Ogunbote had handled Gateway United of Abeokuta, Sunshine Stars of Akure, Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, Giwa FC of Jos and Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan before joining the Aba millionaires club.
“Enyimba is a big team not just in Nigeria but also Africa. For any coach to come here is always something to cherish. All we need to do is to see things as collective responsibilities. When a team that is used to winning laurels doesn’t get it once, it will be like heaven has dropped down. We want to see what we can do and make the club come back on track.
“Barcelona, a club that is adjudged the best team in the world is never satisfied otherwise there will be no need for them to reinforce their team. We won’t be satisfied until we achieve our dreams and objectives. We will see what we can do. I know that Enyimba isn’t a bad side and will never be. The club has always signed the best in the land and for sure we will try our best to make the team great again.”
