*Black Sunday as Dalung describes the loss

Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (MFR), chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nigeria Sports Development Fund Inc (NSDFI) has sent a condolence message to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung, who lost his first wife, Mrs. Briskila Dalung.
When Chief Iwuanyanwu was called, he was shocked at the loss and he mustered courage to “share the pains of the family at this time. The loss of a wife can be very demanding but we all should pray to God to support the minister. Our condolences flow to him from the NSDFI.”
Chief Mary Onyali, the chairperson of the Nigeria Olympic Women Commission also in a message commiserated with the minister over the loss, praying, “may God give him and the other members of the family the right fortitude to bear the loss.
According to the Minister who announced this on his Facebook wall, she died on Sunday morning.
Mr. Dalung who described the incident as “a Black Sunday” wrote, “For it is appointed for man to live thereafter come death and judgment says the Holy Bible. While in the Quran, it states that it is appointed that every soul shall test death.
“My heart is heavy, I cannot continue, I lost my first wife, Mrs. Briskila this morning. May her soul and the souls of faithful departed rest in the bosom of the Lord, amen. What a black Sunday.”
The Sports Minister is currently attending African Union meeting on sports in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is expected back in the country on Monday.
Meanwhile, no details of the burial plans is out yet from the family.
