Kelechi Emeteole needs urgent help for surgery
*NFF, LMC please rise up to help one of us
Coach Kelechi “caterpillar” Emetole is seriously ill and cannot speak. He is reputed to have lost his voice. He now breathes with the aid of a pipe attached to his neck. He is diagnosed with the cancer of the voice box which has affected his heart. He needs surgery to save his life as soon as possible.
According to his wife, a hospital in New Delhi in India demanded 11,000 dollars for the procedure but a Nigerian professor in Enugu says about N2 million will do the job.
Kelechi Emetole served this nation effectively with the likes of Christian Chukwu, Chief Patrick Olusegun Odegbami to mention but a few.
He also served Imo, Abia, Enugu and Anambra state through The Spartans FC of Owerri, Iwuanyanwu Nationale FC of Owerri, Heartland FC of Owerri and Rangers international FC of Enugu. He led Heartland to the finals of the Champions League in 2009.
One of his players who muted the need for this campaign to www.gongnews.net said, “oga, please make a special case for assistance from NFF and LMC. We need the assistance now. You can talk to officials of the governments of Imo, Abia and Enugu to assist him in these trying times.
El-kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and Rangers International of Enugu are owing him for services he rendered graciously including Heartland FC of Owerri since 2009 during the days of Governor Ikedi Ohakim. Coach is not supposed to be begging to take good care of himself. He is being owed over N10million by clubs.

Olajide Fashikun, a former athlete and journalist in his reaction said, “if 1,000 of us can donate N2,000.00 each to his account, that money will complete. We urge, pray and ask the nation’s football fraternity to please individually drop the monies to his account. Some of us can do N5,000 or more. We shall update you with the trend while we pray that God will touch, heal and give him reasons to be of value to our society. The time to rise is now.”
