According to the statement, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed directed the Commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their various ministries and assured citizens that additional measures have been put in place to sustain government business pending the reconstitution of the state executive council.

Alhaji Gold added that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed thanked the former executive council members, special advisers and assistants for their valuable service and contributions and wished them the best of luck in their future engagements.

This is the first cabinet reshuffle the governor will be undertaking in this term of his tenure.

Pundits are of the opinion that the Governor may be repositioning for a more effective and efficient cabinet. The sources say almost 40% of the current members of the dissolved Council may be losing their places for persons who may be coming to add vigour and vitality to governance in the state.

So far, there is no reaction from stakeholders to the development.

Comrade Rahoof Bello in his reaction said, “the cabinet dissolution is a ruse. The option became attractive to the Governor for two reasons. One, for want of what to do to be seen as active and to secure absolute loyalty for the Governor’s next political destination. almost all of them will return. It is a case of old wine in new bottle.”
