London friendly: Kelechi Iheanacho stretches Rohr’s unbeaten runs good – Fresh
*Eagles would continue to have good records against Senegal
Vice chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)’s Technical and Development committee, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh has praised Kelechi Iheanacho for stretching Gernot Rohr’s unbeaten runs in the Super Eagles in the match against the Teranga Lions of Senegal in London during the week.
Fresh who was live at the venue of the match played at the Hive stadium with other executive members, made this known on phone from London. “Am not moved with the outcome of this match because if you check the history books, you would agree with me that Super Eagles have rich records playing Senegal.
According to him Nigeria Super Eagles has met Teranga Lions of Senegal on 17 occasions and they won nine of such meetings, drawn five and lost three. With the latest match which ended 1-1, it makes the meetings 18 times,’ Fresh noted.
The member of CAF technical and development committee therefore pat Kelechi Iheanacho at his back for being the saving grace of the match.
‘Kelechi Iheanacho he’s a good player. He’s been there for the nation times without number. With equaliser he scored, he has preserved the unbeaten records under Gernot Rohr,” he said.
As the Super Eagles looks forward to take on the Stallions of Burkina Faso on 27th of this month in London.
It would be recalled that Senegal’s goal was scored by Moussa Sow who delivered the opener for the Lions, while Iheanacho cancelled out the goal with a spot kick in the 82nd minute.
