*This will injure APC in 2019 in Kaduna
Alhaji Abubakar Umar Yeriman Bomo, the Director General of the Senator Suleiman Aliyu Hunkuyi campaign organisation has said it is the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai that is failing in his promise to run an inclusive government.
He accused some of Governor el-Rufai’s aides of blocking him from the actual reality on ground, which he said, would be fatal to the chances of the All Progressives Congress in 2019.
The DG specifically pointed at one of el-Rufai’s political advisor, Mr Uba Sani, as the chief culprit in blowing the governor’s political flag in the wrong direction.
“What we have in Kaduna State today is an exclusive capitalist imperial government and not the inclusive liberal democracy promised the people.
“Two years after the campaigns and consequent electoral victory, the governor has been misled far away from the people who toiled for him, from the critical stakeholders in the APC project and from the general population.
“Though, he may have achieved some credit by way of performance in governance, he has however failed woefully in relations with party stakeholders, critical campaign organs and the general electorate.
“In this case, his political advisor, Uba Sani, is the sole culprit. He is not telling the governor the truth. Instead, he is creating unnecessary enmity and controversy for the governor. He is even seldom around in the state so as to be able to assess the real situation and inform the governor appropriately,” said Yerima who claims to be speaking the minds of about 7,000 sidelined members of various APC strategic campaign outfits.
He warned that unless this trend is reversed, the APC and Governor el-Rufai risk substantial losses in the coming round of elections and could even lose the state.
“It is instructive to note that the antics of Una Sani have already made people of the state angry while critical stakeholders without whose support and management the governor and his government could not have emerged, are growing unhappy as well,” he said.
On Suleiman Hunkuyi’s perceived interest in el-Rufai’s job, the DG said if ever his principal decides to seek the Kaduna governorship, no one can stop him.
“Every politician has higher ambitions. Though, Senator Hunkuyi has not yet openly declared interest and has not yet made any move, covert or overt, to indicate interest in the 2019 governorship race, I can tell you that if he eventually does, no one can stop him,” said the Yeriman Bomo.
