*Athletics database shall be biometric hence

Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) has pledged their corporate support for the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the renewed bid to reposition the sport in the country.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat), Mrs Abimbola Alale, made the pledge while hosting the leadership of the afn in her office on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Mrs Alale, “we shall do our best to help athletics in every way we can to make a difference. We shall throw our weight fully behind all your activities. We want to see Nigerians do well in international sport.”
“The era when we used to rule the world should be brought back. We shall do all we can. It was athletics that would bring Nigerians together waiting for the relay or the flat races. We need all those days back.”
Also speaking at the event, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat)’s Executive Director Marketing and Business Development, Hon Samson Osagie commended the new leadership of the AFN for their foresight and vision.
“The only single unifying factor in the nation had been sports. It makes us all one people. Anytime you see a Nigerian team playing, we don’t remember our diversities. Every organisatin worth its name and value will support our sports, especially athletics, which is the mother of all.”
Speaking earlier, the AFN President, Ibrahim Gusau told his hosts “in our four-year tenure, we want to achieve a large mileage. We want to establish a synergy with organisations that can tag to our activities to get both local, national and international mileage.”
“We are refocusing athletics in all its content and management structures. Hence, our database shall be biometric. We are putting together a new Constitution, a new face and new athlete development and support structures.
He told the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) management, “we shall require your infrastructure, technological and other edge-gilded weight.”
Former African record holder, Chief Mary Onyali (MFR) speaking at the event appealed to corporate Nigeria to take a peep at the new AFN as a massive new brand that will boost their totality. Thank you Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) for keying into our vision. Nigerian children, women and youths will appreciate this new vista and presence in our sport.”
In the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) team were Mallam Abubakar Lema Muhammad who is the Executive Director Administration and Finance; Barrister Samson Osagie who is the Executive Director Business and Marketing; Engineer Adajah who is the General Manager Satellite Development and Adamu idris who is the head of Public Affairs.
In the AFN team were Kayode Olumoko, Cordelia Okolie, Collins Duru, Chief Onyali, Mr Sunday Adeleye and board member, Amanze Marcus.
