Niger Governor’s Cup: Nigeria football big shot’s storm Mokwa
*23 of the 25 local government areas participated

On Sunday, the final of the 37th edition of the Niger Governor’s cup will be contested, lost and won in Mokwa Local Government Area of the state. Prominent guests in the nation’s football hierarchy will watch the gladiators trade tackles and ply their silky skills.
The Niger Governor’s cup is in honour of the State Chief Executive, Abubakar Sani Bello, who himself will be star struck as the ‘who is who’ in Nigerian football will be on ground to witness the quality of football artistry at it’s best live in the Power State.
The Nigerian football big shots billed to storm Mokwa town, venue of this year’s final will be doing so in solidarity with the Chairman Nigeria Football Federation referees appointment committee and member of CAF’s technical committee, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, who is also the local FA Chairman.
Fresh has galvanised the state through the path of football development never before witnessed since he became the FA Chairman with series of football competitions staged within the nooks and crannies of the state.
The 2017 Governors cup final will have present executive committee members of the Nigeria Football Federation with over 20 State FA Chairmen that have confirmed their attendance.
This year’s Governor’s cup competition has been intriguing, entertaining and revealing of the football potentials of Niger State as 23 of the 25 local government areas of the state participated in the competition before the final which the world is about to witness on 30th April 2017.
Every logistics have been put in place and the people of Niger state cannot wait to experience yet again the crowning of the Governors Cup champion for the 37th time.
As at the time of going to press, the semi-final matches were being decided.
