Nigeria Cricket Federation honours Christian Enahoro

*As the late national team captain sets to be buried

Nigeria Cricket Federation on Thursday organised a one-day novelty cricket match in honour of the former President of Nigeria Cricket Association, Mr Christian Enahoro who died early this year.

Two selected sides, Christian Enahoro 11 vs President’s 11 played a 10 overs tribute Match in honour of the former national captain.

Christian Enahoro 11 won the toss and elected to bat, scoring a total of 64 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs

In the second innings, the President’s 11 fought hard but fell short of the total.  59 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs

Christian Enahoro 11 won the match by 5 runs

Okon Ukpong, Obuthe Ogbimi rolled back the good old days with impressive displays scoring 14 and 21 runs respectively

President of the federation, Emeka Onyeama took 1 wicket in his over as part of the bowling effort for President’s 11

The ceremony saw veterans and people of impetus from all walks of life in attendance such as Engineer Emeka Onyeama, the sitting NCF President, Dr John Abebe former President Nigeria Cricket Association, Mr Mike Emokporo former captain DYAKS CC, Kayode Adeniyi current board member NCF, Mr Sanmi Ajayi also a current board member NCF.

In his remarks, NCF President thanked everybody for attending the ceremony while echoing that Christian Enahoro will be impossible to replace and beseeched everyone to honour his legacy.

In response, Dino Enahoro, the elder brother to late Christian Enahoro thanked the federation and everybody present for the gesture and respect paid to their brother.
