Ojimen is new coordinator of Child Protection Network

Immediate past chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Edo State, Barrister Stella Ojimem, has emerged as the Coordinator of Child Protection Network.

Child Protection Network is a network of several other organisations that canvasses for better life, education and good health for underprivileged children.

The network also advocates against child abuse, child labour, child hawking, trafficking and other social vices against children across the country.

Barrister Stella Ojimem took the baton from Jennifer Ero who had held sway for three years.

Ero became the chairman, Board of Trustees for the Child Protection Network.

Other newly elected Executives include the Deputy Coordinator of the network, Charles Erhosuehi, Tella Effy emerged as the Secretary.

Also elected are the Assistant Secretary, Prince Omene, Public Relations Officer, Pamela Aigbe.

Mr. Efosa Otasowie, Ivie Ejodame were elected as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer respectively.

Others are Welfare, Mary Enuma, Financial Secretary, Purpose Iserhienrhin, Assistant Financial Secretary,  Anthonia  Okeke.

The network, under the coordination of Jennifer Ero, won many cases against abuse, violence against children and women in court while others are yet to be decided.

Jennifer Ero also led campaigns against child trafficking to rural areas including, Ukhiri, Iguobazuwa and some communities in Edo Central and North respectively.

Jennifer Ero is the Founder and Executive Director of the Society for the Empowerment of Young Persons (SEYP).
