Prof. Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye Foundation will support BOOST

*Also Offa Chief Imam prays for project

Members of the management team of the Ruth Ogbeifo-Balofin community sports centre in Offa extended their advocacy visit on the Chief Imam of the ancient town as well as Prince Mohammad Onikola Oyawoye who is Chef Executive Officer of Prof. Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye Foundation.

Prof. Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye is the first Professor of Geology in the whole of West Africa.

Receiving the team, Prince Mohammed Onikola Oyawoye who is from the Anilelerin royal family in Offa pledged his Foundation’s total support for the project.

He also talked about how the Prof. Jamiu Mosobalaje Foundation had been investing in sports through the Offa Community Schools Sports Foundation which was founded and sponsored by the Professor.

“Prof Jamiu Oyawoye is a lover of sports. Apart from other philanthropic projects the Foundation is doing to help Offa community grow, the Offa Community Schools Sports foundation is giving maximum support to the community because of the importance we attach to sport and youth developments.

In her remark, the Administrative Manager, Mrs Adejoke Bamidele explained that, “this is a project that belongs to the people of Offa. We are just passers-by planting a seed. As it grows and people are trained to tend it, we shall be leaving to plant the same seed in other communities.

She added, “ the BOOST project named after Chief Ruth Ogbeifo-Balofin who chose Offa is to see how we can catch every young talented athlete in Offa, help them grow to be world leaders in sports.”

She praised the community for giving “us the warmest welcome. We have enjoyed tremendous support from every sector. We are so proud of the quality of industry of the people of Offa. Offa is our first home in Nigeria and it has been a great home.”

The deputy Organising Secretary, Mr. Suleiman Ajeigbe, solicited for the Foundation’s support, especially in terms of kits, training materials and otherwise to help the project achieve more.

He was later presented with the endorsement card and he endorsed the Team Ruth Ogbeifo brand.

At the Islamic institute of the Chief Imam of Offa kingdom, Alhaji Muideen Hussein, he was briefed about the BOOST programme, it’s purpose in Offa and how we hope it will benefit the whole community. We also urge to use his influence in seeing to the success of the programme by helping to reach out to meaningful and progressive indigenes that will assist the project more.

In his response the Chief Imam welcomed the programme. “I have heard of the impact you people have been laying on the community. I give you my total support. I will be willing to assist with prayers to see to the programme achieving it’s aims and objectives.

He also prayed for Offa community to produce world champions in all the sports as well as all the brains behind the programme.
