*Why we must end Saraki’s hegemony in Kwara
Kwara State PDP Exco Friday, received a one-time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Suleiman Abubakar, on a courtesy visit to the members of the state secretariat as a solidarity to the newly constituted leadership of the party.
In his welcome address, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo heartily appreciated the patriotic move all in the spirit of consolidating the opposition stance in Kwara politics. He saluted the courage of the Professor in fulfilling his promise to work with any emerging state Exco.
In his address, Prof. Suleiman expressed his readiness not just to foster unity and eschew the issues of the past, but purposefully to make Kwara difficult for the Sarakites political group and join forces with all party loyalists to end the Saraki political hegemony.
He acknowledged the authenticity of Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and team leadership brand and will not do otherwise to unit all aggrieved personalities in the State.
He therefore appreciated the faithful party members for the wilful demonstration of purpose to wrestle power from the failed APC administration in the State.
He equally admonished Akogun and team, to put their differences aside, and close ranks to achieve a formidable and indomitable PDP. He cited the readiness of Kwarans to support the Party as demonstrated in the LG elections and such will be magnified in 2019 elections.
He finally thanked the Kwara State delegates for their support in the last National convention where he contested as the National Publicity Secretary.
Chief Rex Olawoye appreciated the august visitor as being a symbol of unity in the Kwara PDP political history. He advised others to emulate Prof. Suleiman Abubakar in unifying the Kwara PDP loyalists.
It would be recalled that the Kwara PDP had been in a crisis leading to a new electoral process that produced the new leadership shortly before the National elective convention of the party in Abuja.
