31 sports federation boards except Gymnastics were inaugurated by the Sports minister.

www.gongnews.net reporters saw Rosa Collins outside speaking with some folks at the initial period before the arrival of the minister but when the inauguration was to start, she could not be traced. Ogba was not found in and around the stadium.

Many of the observers of the inauguration ceremony were surprised that the duo of Fidelis Tafida Gadzama and Brown Ebewele who mounted serious social media attacks on the Ibrahim Gusau camp may have taken in their fate, attended the inauguration and the post inauguration meeting of the board.

In basketball, the Musa Kida board and its 13th June elected members were inaugurated by the minister, Solomon Dalung. Though, the Kano-elected NBBF members are in court with the Sports ministry and the minister.

Sports minister Solomon Dalung has been accused by some of the stakeholders or probably running another agenda by his nullification of the process that produced on Friday morning, Prince Kelvin’s Ehizogie’s election yet again.

The source disclosed to www.gongnews.net that the Sports minister, Solomon Dalung, succeeded in getting Moyo Ogunsenide into the board in the South West Zonal election held Friday morning just as Prince Kelvin Ehizogie emerged president for the second time.

However, few hours after the election with many sighing that the crisis in the federation is over, the minister directed yet again that the election be cancelled claiming that deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, is angry that he was not carried along in the new arrangement.

It will be recalled that Ekweremadu lost to Kingsley from Anambra state  in the South East zonal elections held on 13th June, in Abuja. His sudden emergence from the blues has left tongues wagging as Dalung is now being accused of designing fresh antics.

Meanwhile, several security operatives including the Nigeria Police, Civil Defenders, plain clothes policemen beefed up security at the National Stadium.

Every vehicle entering the stadium were screened by the police. Also, the second gate on coming from the National Hospital, Minister’s gate, was under lock, narrowing traffic into the venue.

The development may not be unconnected with the suspicion that the people might react to directives and counter-directives by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports in the elections into the boards of the sports federations.

Zonal members of boards on re-run election: Representatives of three sport federations emerged during the re-run held on Thursday on the recommendation of the Petition/Appeal Committee for elections held on 13th June.

Bolaji Yusuf was elected as representative for the South-West by four delegates at the Nigeria Judo Federation’s re-run election.

Also, five of six delegates elected Ms Tayo Popoola as representative for South-West in the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation board.

Famous Daunemigha emerged South-South representative for Nigeria Volleyball Federation in the re-run on Thursday.
