By Debo Adeoye, Ibadan
Chairman, Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, has attributed his success story in the football fraternity to the immense contributions of sports journalists in the country.
Ogunjobi, stated this while playing host to members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State chapter led by the chairman, Adeniyi Alebiosu, who had gone to intimate him of the association’s annual sports week scheduled to hold between Monday, 11th December to Friday 15th December, 2017, at Wallan Hotel, Ring Road, Ibadan.
He noted that he would not have achieved a lot in the football circle if not for the unalloyed support he received from the members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) particularly in Oyo State.
“No matter how brilliant I may think I am, nobody would have noticed what I was able to offer if I do not enjoy adequate publicity both in the print and electronic media, not to talk of getting recognised by different organisations through awards and all form of recognition. Therefore, I owe you guys a lot of gratitude for giving me the needed support at a time when it matters most”.
Ogunjobi, a former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), is part of the recipients of awards during Oyo SWAN awards/dinner scheduled to hold on Friday, December, 15, 2017. He, however, promised to offer the needed support to Oyo SWAN towards a successful hosting of the 2017 annual sports week.
The former Super Eagles central defence player who had administered various levels of the sport is an enigma of the sport.
The Chairman, Oyo SWAN, Adeniyi Alebiosu, while thanking Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi for acknowledging what sports journalists have done for him in terms of reportage, pledged continued support for him while also appreciating his all-time kind gestures to sports journalists.
