*Data of all Squash Racket players will soon be captured
Nigeria Squash Racket Federation (NSRF) will soon introduce a youth development programme that will capture all age-grade cadres, in the six geo-political zones of the federation.
Speaking to sports writers at the Squash Court of the Kwara State Stadium Complex on Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the federation, Samuel Aminu said that the youth development programme will hold at intervals in all the six geo-political zones, to discover talents and to sustain the development of the already discovered ones.
Aminu said that the standard being exhibited by squash players in the on-going National Youth Games (NYG) proves that the sport has improved a lot and that the great athletes discovered represents great prospect for the sports in the future.
‘There are a lot of improvements, and this speaks volume for what the future of the sport will look like’, he said.
While commending the Squash Federation, Aminu said that the collation of data of all players in the nation is on-going, adding that data for eight states have already been collated.
‘We want the complete data of all the players. We have covered eight states now, and we hope to continue. We want a complete data of the players in all the categories, and the data will also assist us to check age falsification’, he averred.
He charged sponsors and stakeholders to rally round the board as it plans to take the game to the next level.
