Stephen Odey: Olivier Noah may sue scorenigeria

*Denies many allegations against him

By Oluwole Francis

MFM FC of Lagos striker, Stephen Odey’s future may be swinging in a limbo which can destroy his flourishing football career if the brewing controversy surrounding his foreign movement blows open.

FIFA agent, Olivier Noah may be suing an online newspaper, www.scorenigeria.com over a publication which has to do with the player and an alleged duplication of his age documents.

In a mail Olivier Noah sent to www.gongnews.net published unedited, he wrote: “in reference to the salacious article published by scorenigeria.com against my person which I viewed as a calculated but failed attempt to tarnish my reputation I dare say to those 1k journalist that digging for facts is better mental exercise than jumping to conclusion.

An angry Noah added, “If they are true journalists they ought to know what a balanced, objective and unbiased journalism should be in this hallowed profession that has now become a free for all trade. For the records, I do not have any issue with Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho. For Wilfred Ndidi I will not speculate about a matter before a court of law.

On the issue with Stephen Odey, he explained, “the matter with Odey and this penchant allegation has nothing to do with my area of remit, as I never made any demand from anyone neither did I authorise anyone to do so on my behalf. However absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Demand for retraction: “It would have been wise to let the sleeping dog lie but in a bid to score a lost point, ill-advised fellows are seeking to conduct a media trial which does not do them any good. I will pursue this matter through every lawful means if a retraction of this fallacious publication is not retracted. Thank you Olivier.

www.gongnews.net decided to check the story complained by Olivier Noah which was titled: STEPHEN ODEY TRANSFER LATEST: Agent forwards striker’s 2 different passports to FC Zurich, demands cut in deal”

We publish the SCORENigeria report undiluted: “SCORENigeria understands that Franco-Cameroonian agent Olivier Noah has allegedly submitted two different copies of the international passport of Stephen Odey to FC Zurich in a desperate bid to scuttle the transfer.

He has also demanded a percentage from the striker’s transfer to the Swiss club.

The passports carry different ages of the MFM FC star.

Noah was the one who facilitated the botched move to Danish club Midtjylland during which the two passports also surfaced and Odey was branded an age cheat.

“Yes, the boy’s two passports were also sent to FC Zurich, but it seems they are not interested in that,” a source told SCORENigeria

“The handlers of the player had already forewarned them against that and have also attached court papers which have cleared the player of any misdeeds.”

It was further gathered that the rival agent has demanded a percentage from the player’s move to FC Zurich even though he did not broker it.

The agreement between he and the player has since expired, another source informed SCORENigeria

“There is no way he can get anything from the boy’s transfer because he did not facilitate it and moreover, his agreement with the player has since ended,” said the source.

Noah is a persona non grata in Nigeria after a rash of allegations were leveled against him in the transfers of Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, among many other Nigerian players.

Agent, you need to get a lawyer to write them. That is the first step and not a media rejoinder.
    I also share your pains.
Did the scorenigeria reporters not realise they are actually damaging the player?
Rather, they are aiming at the agent as if there are grouses to contend with.
