*Eyes Lagos Governor’s Cup

Former Nigeria number one, Candy Idoko, is set to revive his career in the United States where he has been for two years.
The former Nigerian Davis Cup player is also looking forward to this year’s Governor’s Cup in Lagos later in the year.
Idoko who have played international tournaments in most countries in Africa such Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya, France, Luxembourg, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, UK, Iran and Syria.
He says he is now in U.S pursuing my career as a professional tennis player.
He told www.gongnews.net that if the likes of Roger Federer could still dominate in the sport at the age of 25 he too can still rank amongst the best in the world now that he has a permanent sponsor.
“I want to give a shot, I am not too old to make impact. I have already put in for some ATP tournaments for the rest of the year,” Idoko said.
A winner of bronze medal men’s single at The All African Games 2011 Mozambique.
He won Silver medal men’s doubles at The All African Games 2001 Mozambique
Member Davis Cup team representing Nigeria (2007- 2012). He was ranked as number one national ranking singles in Nigeria (2009-2010).
He was ranked number one national ranking doubles in Nigeria (2009-2013). He was the winner Master’s 2006,2007 and 2008
His highest ATP International ranking was number 928 (August 2007) while his highest ATP International ranking 724 (November 2008).
