*Charles Eyo gets quit notice
*Ogba, Ebewele fingered in the debacle

With the decision of the Petition/Appeals committee to sack Hon Ibrahim Gusau as the elected President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), there is heavy tension in the zone leading to the search and threats on the petitioner, Charles Eyo. The duo of former President Solomon Ogba and Brown Ebewele has been fingered to be behind the plot to ensure that Gusau does not return.
According to our sources, a senior ministry of Youth ad Sports official who was behind the entire scheme and decisions of the committee smuggled in Solomon Ogba as sponsor thereby removing Olympian Hameed Adio as ex-officio. The same official got Patrick Onyedum of Anambra out to enable WADA listed Charity Opara-Asonze re-contest against the rules of the guidelines of the elections.
A member of the petition/Appeals committee confided in www.gongnews.net that we are not aware of the drug background of Charity Opara-Asonze. We were just told that her exclusion from the electoral process was not right. that informed our decision to cancel the election.
However, Charles Eyo is in hiding from his Kaduna base for allowing himself to be used to upturn the apple cart. Some of Brown Ebewele’s messengers have brought so much money asking us to ensure that Gusau does not come out of the zone in the re-election so that it will create a smooth sail for Rosa Collins. That is when we realised what was happening.
Having realised, we took on Eyo who confessed that it was some forces that funded his protest. We have told him to pack his things and move his family out of Kaduna in the event of any untoward development. Now, that their ugly plans have failed, we are on the alert.
“For God’s sake, if that election takes place one million times, we shall return Gusau back. On the 13th June election, we gave him unanimous vote. That is what will happen on the 10th July election. We shall return him enmasse. Nobody should try our patience on this matter” said former thrower Shehu Abdulkadri on phone from Kebbi state.
