Nigeria home-based head Coach Salisu Yusuf believes that the selected Super Eagles Team B players for this month’s West African Football Union (WAFU) competition which will take place in Ghana are all picked by merit.

“I will want to give other players that play the same position with those ones we dropped now by the time we will regroup for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

“We should be able to assess two players for one position. I believe players in camp are very strong doing very well in their club sides. First thing now is to qualify to the group stage and our focus now his how to beat Sierra Leone at the knock-out stage.

Coach Salisu Yusuf  expressed delight on the movement of some of his players like Stephen Odey of MFM, Ibrahim Hassan of Akwa United and Bethel Orji of Rangers, said it’s a good thing for us because by the time we call them again they would have gone through a process that will make them better players and we can’t hold on to them. Their departure has opened doors for other players to fill in.
