MFM is surely the team of the moment and Stephen Odey is simply the rave of the moment he is the leading goalscorer with 6 goals so far this season. He has described their week 10 game against Rangers of Enugu as one of the toughest game for his team in his boyish way.
‘Nothing went wrong because we were leading them so they’ll definitely want to fight back to equalise. They’re the defending champions of the league. But we trust our coaching crew, the substitution and tactical input made the difference on the day and you will agree with we deserved the victory’.
The former Principals Cup rookie just won the League Blogger player of the month for January and he is challenged to do more.
‘It makes me feel great. It will further motivate me and my teammates for greater challenges and I dedicate the award to every member of my team’ he said
Stephen Odey currently tops the league with 6 goals and he hope to get more goals this season.
I have dreamt of that so many times. So I’m working up to that this season. This season won’t be like last season. Because last season I never had the opportunity like this. And now I am more focused to do better than I did last year.
The young lad is so excited and he hopes to break the Ufom Udok record of 23 goals as leading goalscorer in the Nigeria premier league.
I’m targeting double figure of goals. Maybe 15 or 20. But I know its a mountain I can surmount, I’m very very ready to break Ufom Udoh record and I believe with hard work and consistency I can achieve that and I think I can do that if Ufom can do it I can do it by God’s grace and you know its a record so am chasing it,” he reiterated.
The status of his team, Mountain of fire and Miracle last season in the league was a miraculous escape on the last day of the season and he said this year will be different because the team is more focused and ready.
We are targeting the top 4 so we can make it to the continent and its been a long time a Lagos team played in CAF Champions league so we are prepared to do that for the team this year.
