Want to score in CHAN final too – Okechukwu

CHAN Eagles striker Gabriel Okechukwu has revealed to www.gongnews.net that he is happy to keep scoring for Nigeria. The Akwa United player who has scored two vital goals for the CHAN team said this in a chat from Morocco.

“I have been rewarded with playing time by the coaching crew and I have set a determination to appreciate the faith they have in me by scoring more goals to make Nigerians happy.

Okechukwu has assured Nigerians he will keep banging  in goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Okechukwu who is currently enjoying a great form. He has turned the toast of the moment for the CHAN Eagles. He has been enjoying different great headlines in the media, after his crucial goals for Nigeria against Angola and Sudan respectively at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nation championship in Morocco. His goals were enough to take the Super Eagles of Nigeria into the competition finals.

He has now scored two winning goals for the Eagles at 2018 CHAN tournament to help the team secure semi final and final ticket.

The Akwa United goal machine on Wednesday took the bull by the horn, handed Super Eagles the first ever final ticket of CHAN when his 16th minute strike broke the backbone of resilient Sudanese to secure a place in the  final  against the host Morocco.

According to the goal bomber who is elated at the prospect of the CHAN team winning the competition, he said: “I know it is my duty to score goals. I have to score to justify my inclusion in the team. I will keep scoring goals for Nigeria and by the grace of God I will score in the final on Sunday” Okechukwu enthused.

Meanwhile, Nureni Makanjuola the proprietor of Water FC is delighted with the team form. He also charged the CHAN Eagles  to beat Morocco on Sunday and bring the trophy home.
