2020/2021 NWFL LEAGUE COMMENCEMENT DATE ‘LL NOT CHANGE – ANUGE

The December 9 kick-off date of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL remains sacrosanct as the league handlers are set to embark on inspection tour of designated stadiums across the country to ensure all venues are ready for the league for the new season.

The Chief Operating Officer of the league board, Mrs. Faith Ben-Anuge revealed that as the deadline for registration in the NWFL Championship and Nationwide closes, more Nigerian Women clubs have indicated interest in participating in the two tiers of the league.

In the Championship, Anuge noted that: “Four new teams have joined the old twelve in the division to increase the number to sixteen that would eventually play in the new season, while in the Nationwide, there are a total 20 clubs newly registered in all.

CodeLagos begins in earnest

This she added was a mark of improvement over the previous seasons.
The NWFL Premiership will open on December 9, with matches in Lafia, Yola, Lokoja, Lagos, Yenagoa, Benin City, Umuahia and Osogbo.

The week one fixtures pairs Nasarawa Amazons against  FC Robo Queens, Adamawa Queens versus Rivers Angels, Confluence Queens confronting Ibom Angels, Dreams Stars against Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens facing Pelican Stars, Edo Queens and Royal Queens, Abia Angels against Osun Babes while Sunshine Queens will host Heartland Queens.
