Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has called on Super Eagles forward Chrisantus Uche to step up his game if he wants more playing time. Uche, who joined Palace from La Liga club Getafe in the summer transfer window, has struggled to make an impact, making only a handful of appearances for the club.
Glasner explained that Uche’s limited playing time was due to the competitive nature of the team, which had been on a 19-game unbeaten streak when he arrived. “You have to show you deserve it and that you are better than the other player, then you can play,” Glasner said.
Uche faces stiff competition for a spot in the team’s 3-4-2 formation, battling with Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino, and Daichi Kamada for the No 10 role, as well as Jean-Phillippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah for a striker position.
Glasner’s comments suggest that Uche will need to work hard to prove himself and earn more playing time at Selhurst Park.
