Victor Boniface Spills The Beans On His Social Media Obsession

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Werder Bremen striker, Victor Boniface, has spoken out about his active presence on social media, revealing that his online activities serve as a coping mechanism. The 23-year-old forward has faced criticism from fans who believe his online antics are distracting him amid a dip in form.

In a recent interview, Boniface clarified that his posts are simply a way to distract himself from the pressures of the game. “I only post these things to distract myself a bit from everything else. It’s nothing serious,” he said.

Boniface attributed the negative reaction to his posts to his current performance on the pitch, noting that he behaved similarly during his successful spell at Bayer Leverkusen. “I did the same thing when I was in Leverkusen… The difference is back then, I scored goals, and we won everything. Nobody talked about it.”

He also highlighted the relentless expectations in football, where players are judged based on their most recent season. “In football, it’s like this: if you play well one season and score goals, everyone expects you to repeat that in exactly the same way the following season. Otherwise, people start talking,” he added.
