Aisha Buhari Cup:Super Falcons To Camp In Austria

Super Falcons will be camping in Austria for 10 Days in August to begin their preparations for the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament holding in Lagos from September 14 to 20.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, the team will also be going back to the US to play more friendly matches to prepare ahead of the Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana in October.
Pinnick said “We believe that these international friendlies will enrich the players and put them in good shape for all the big championships in front of them”.

“We also hope to maintain our number one position on the continent and go ahead to improve on our ranking before the next FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.”
The Randy Waldrum’s side bowed to the four-time World Women champion USA 2-0 defeat in their last Summer Series outing.
They lost 1-0 to the Raggae Girls of Jamaica and drew 3-3 with Portugal during the Summer Series invitational in USA.
Morocco will be hosting the 2022 African Women Nations Cup which the Super Falcons won last in 2018.
The Nigerian girls defeated South Africa 4-3 on penalties in the final held in Accra, Ghana three years ago.
The tournament was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic which ravaged the whole world.
