Aiteo Cup May  hold Soon As NFF Wants New Team For CAF Cup

Aiteo Cup the country’s FA Cup will hold this year if news coming from the Nigeria Football Federation NFF are anything to go by.
The competition did not hold last year due to the COVID 19 that ravaged the whole world thus stopping Nigeria from hosting the competition.
According to a tweet from a NFF top official : “We will organize the Aiteo Cup for this season, we are looking at a short program with 36 teams. We need to present our second team for the CAFCC and we are looking at a format that will end within weeks.
This means that clubs will have more games to play as the AITEO Federation Cup might be starting anytime soon.
Meanwhile the NFF has ruled out the possibility of sending 2018/2019 Aiteo Cup FA Cup winner, Kano Pillars as the country’s representaive in CAF Confederation Cup which entry will comes up soon.
“We don’t want to send Kano Pillars.” Kano Pillars will not get the automatic spot for the Confederation Cup this season as reports from NFF said “they would prefer a new representative” for the country in the competition.
Last season, Pillars got the automatic ticket for the continental tournament as winners of the 2018/2019 AITEO cup after football was abruptly stopped due to covid-19.
The winner of the cup gets an automatic ticket into the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers alongside the 3rd positioned team in the NPFL.
