Speaking after the round of 16 tie, Sunshine coach, Ayodeji Ayeni said his boys did not leave up to the billing because they were fatigue due to the number of matches they played in recent times.
“We played about four matches in the couple days and it affected the performance of the boys but we are going to have a derseving rest before going for their next league date against Adamawa,” he said.
He explained that the team would go back and strategise for their next game against Adamawa and go ahead to win the Aiteo Cup and escape relegation.
Ayeni said that the result achieved so far under his belt was that the lapses noted in the team like issue of salary and allowances after taking over from former coach Gbenga Ogunbote had been corrected.
His opponent coach Musa Haruna of Green Berets said he had no regrets about the result because penalty is a game of luck and they did their best during 90 minutes duration.
