THE President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Prince Chris Isiguzo has reiterated the fact that Mr Niyi Alebiosu of Nigerian Tribune remains the recognised and incontrovertible chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter.

Prince Isiguzo made this declaration while fielding questions during a special congress of Oyo state Council of the NUJ at Dapo Aderogba hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

The number one journalist in the country was on a three days visit to the Oyo state as part of his nationwide tour with the aim of interacting with members of the union across country.

While responding to questions on the fate of the parallel convention of national SWAN held in Abuja and Port harcourt last year, he said ” just like a case which is before the court of law. Any comment on such issue will amount to contempt of court.

“The issue of parallel convention of national SWAN is before a committee set up by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of NUJ. I think they have submitted their report or about to. I cannot make any comment on it now but I assure you that the recommendation of the committee will implemented to the fullest.

“But here in Oyo state, you don’t have issue here because Niyi Alebiosu is the SWAN Chairman, any other person parading himself as such is an impostor.

“The matter at the national level will be laid to rest by the time we receive the report of the committee.”

The President then advised all members of the union to go by the constitution and ensure unity in their relation
