Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has entered into a working relationship to swap plans with factional Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, for the CAF executive committee seat in exchange for the NFF to support the GFA chief to remain on the FIFA Council. CAF executive committee and FIFA Council polls are slated for March 2017. “Pinnick and Nyantakyi are from the same WAFU zone. To guarantee success, the plan is for Nyantakyi to step down for him for the CAF position, while he will fully support him for his re-election for a seat on the FIFA Council.

A pundit when asked expressed his surprise this way: “this explains the close alliance between the two men in recent times. Pinnick flew Nyantakyi back on the N42million chartered flight from the AWCON final in Cameroon for them to attend a sports award in Lagos together.

It would be recalled that Nyantakyi was also among the 17 football federation presidents who Pinnick invited to Abuja for the hosting of FIFA boss, Gianni Infantino, to Nigeria in July.

A lawyer and banker, the 48-year-old Nyantakyi has been GFA president since December 2005. He was first elected on the CAF executive committee in February 2011. He is also the president of the sub-regional WAFU Zone B and owns Ghanaian club Wa All Stars.

Amaju Pinnick had sneakily entered into the CAF race without the support and knowledge of the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) which he heads leading to a massive protest from within the system.

Meanwhile, an insensitive Pinnick has issues of managing the allowances of various national teams, the most recent which boomeranged on his face was that of the senior women national team, the Super Falcons, which is yet to be settled before he starts to pursue personal development at the expense of the national interest.
