Enyimba internationals coach,  Fatai Osho, is of the believe that his team will still qualify for the quarter finals stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite their 1-0 defeat by Ahli Benghazi last Thursday in Libya.

Osho has called on his wards to step up their performance ahead of the last CAF Confederation Cup group game against Orlando Pirates of South Africa.

Enyimba are condemned to win their last game against the South African to stand a chance to qualifying the semi-final of the African club’s second elite competition.

The Nigeria champions defeat saw them slip further down on the table to third.

The results mean, Enyimba need maximum points against Orlando Pirates and Osho has now called on his wards to step up their game.

“You look at that group and everyone still stands the chance to go to the quarter-finals. I had said that the group would go on to the last day.

“Every team is competing very well, what we need to do right now is ensure we get our maximum points against Pirates and see what happens in the other venue,” Osho said.

The Peoples’ Elephant suffered a further blow when they were reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes left to play after Danladi was shown a straight red card for a serious foul play.

The defeat ensured Enyimba dropped to the third spot on the Group A table with six points from five games while Al-Ahly climbed to the second spot with seven points and Orlando Pirates are top of the group.

Enyimba must now win their last group game against Orlando Pirates on April 28 to boost their chances of reaching the next stage of the continental tournament.
